As the Finance Manager you'll provide leadership and guidance to the Financial Accounting and Management Accounting teams.
Success in this position will look like:
A successfull business partner model through strong relationships, exceptional customer experiences, engaging and meaningful presentation of data, and expert advice
Accurate and efficient delivery of the annual budget and planning process, annual long-term financial plan and annual audit process
A culture of continuous improvement
Innovative solutions and strategies to the management of Council's finances
Reduced financial management threats or opportunities, with a proactive approach to their identification and impactful risk management practices
This is a new position in our growing Finance Department, with a total remuneration package of approx $160k (including 10% super) + a monthly day off arrangement. Consideration may be given to part time arrangements of 28+ hours per week.
Desired Skills and Experience
To succeed in this position you will need:
Effective methods for building strong and cohesive team environments, and bringing the best out of your staff
Experience in senior financial positions implementing best practice financial management
A history of engaging a variety of stakeholders and using those relationships to drive improvements, compliance, and efficiencies
Professional finance qualifications such as CA, CPA or equivalent
Well-developed interpretation, analysis, time management and communication skills
