Exciting opportunity to join our growing Finance Department in this new permanent full time Asset Accountant position. 

This position will play a critical role in coordinating, recording and monitoring the financial outcomes of Council's asset revaluation program, including returns and acquittals of various government entities, audits in asset accounting matters, and managing the financials of Council's Developer Contribution Program. 

By partnering with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, you'll drive the timely and accurate capture of data and build strong relationships to enhance services and processes. Engagement and communication are key aspects of this position as you'll be a valued member of the Capital Planning and Works Committee. 

This position has a salary of $98,713 to $109,639 per annum + 10% superannuation + a monthly accrued day off. Consideration may be given to part time arrangements of 25+ hours per week. 

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification, ideally in Accounting or Asset Management. Professional finance qualifications such as CA or CPE are highly desirable
  • Experience in asset accounting and asset management principles and practices (eg relating to property, plant, infrastructure assets, etc)
  • A proactive approach to stakeholder management, problem solving and ensuring accuracy 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in an asset management system such as AssetMaster or Assetic, and financial management systems such as TechOne are highly desirable
