We have an opportunity for a talented Senior Urban Designer with proven drive and creativity to join our dynamic Public Realm and Urban Design Team. City of Whittlesea Senior Urban Designers identify, lead and collaborate on a broad range of growth area and urban renewal projects from strategic visioning to implementation.

About you
We are looking for a passionate, motivated and collegiate Senior Urban Designer with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to excellence, to join our team.

You will:

  • Have appropriate tertiary qualifications and a minimum five years relevant work experience in urban design combined with urban planning, architecture or landscape architecture skills
  • Lead, coordinate and project manage major design projects of strategic significance to ensure that Council, developers and stakeholders are engaged and satisfied with the process and outcomes
  • Foster awareness of Council’s urban design needs/priorities and constraints with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a beneficial outcome for both the public and private realm
  • Identify future opportunities for projects to be undertaken by the Urban Design team to further advance Council’s W2040 and other strategic objectives
  • Bring a strong commitment to collaborative team work with urban designers, strategic and social planners, landscape architects and other disciplines, across Council to deliver excellent client service and high-quality outputs
  • Have strong oral, written and graphic communication skills, and experience in preparing reports and delivering presentations
