Salary $123,886 + Super (pro-rata if PT)

The Role

Reporting to the Maternal Child Health Team Leader a new opportunity exists to become part of an innovative leadership team, delivering high quality programs that supports optimal child, maternal and family health and wellbeing.

You are responsible for the day to day management, support and supervision of one of the multidisciplinary teams of MCH nurses, administration officers, alongside 3 other coordinators.  Your team provides a range of efficient and comprehensive services to vulnerable families experiencing significant early parenting difficulties and children identified as being at risk of harm.

Your ability to know what is happening in the community while building and maintaining external networks, representing Council and advocating for our families will aid you and your team. You will have an intimate understanding of what are the needs of our community, responding and incorporating them into our strategic planning. You will also be tasked with the development and implementation of innovative practises, creating effective and efficient best practise service delivery in line with community. 

About you

You will be passionate in supporting, coaching and mentoring staff to deliver high quality effective and responsive services.  Your highly developed communication skills will ensure that the MCH team are a connected team to develop projects that improve service quality leading to better health and wellbeing outcomes for children and families.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing.
  •  Current AHRHA registration as a division 1 Nurse and Midwife (NMBA)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in Maternal and Child Health or related service area.
  • Experience in supervising or managing a team of professionals, including the provision of clinical supervision and leading staff through change.
  • Identify and establish innovative continuous improvement opportunities, supporting the delivery of services within the municipality
  • The conduit between strategic planning and operational service delivery, providing process and guidance on achieving Council goals and service agreements
  • Knowledge and understanding of the State Government reform agenda and its implications for the design and delivery of MCH and Early Years services.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments
  • Candidates will hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence and hold a current WWC
