Management Accountant

The Position:

The main focus of this position is to provide high level project management, budgetary and costing support for major capital projects and operational managers across Council. 

Remuneration:

  • $63,216 to $79,083 per annum (Graduate Scale)
  • Plus up to 12% Council Superannuation Contribution (Local Government Conditions apply to superannuation).

To be successful you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the formulation of budgets, particularly relating to employee costs, and the use of management reporting processes to provide project specific information to assist management to monitor progress, forecast expenditure to complete, and to analyse project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of complex Financial Information systems including processing, maintenance and reporting from within the Costing module of these systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant acquittal, subsidy claiming and audit processes would be advantageous.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to interrogate financial systems to provide high quality, client focused financial & business analysis.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of staff within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, in a professional and positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and manage workflows utilising a high level of initiative.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability including the interpretation of matters for which there may be no clearly established practices and procedures.
