The Position:

To provide day to day management of Council’s road network for the benefit of transport users and the community. This is a key position responsible for ensuring Council’s transportation corridors and associated assets are operated, maintained and enhanced in an integrated, safe and cost effective manner.

Remuneration:

• Contract $145,000

To be successful you will need:

1. Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar to enable Membership of Engineers Australia as a Professional Engineer – Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng);
2. Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) is highly desirable; Experience as an Engineering Manager in a Roads and Drainage business area;
3. Extensive experience and high level knowledge in the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of Roads/Drainage assets in both urban and rural environments in a local government context;
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing and assertiveness in order to successfully resolve stakeholder issues and meet changing organisational needs relevant to the work areas.
5. Provision of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia wide – name only)
