Manager Infrastructure (Water)

Cairns Regional Council plays a fundamental role in planning and providing for the Cairns community. Servicing a population of over 150,000 across an area of nearly 1700km2 from Bramston Beach to Palm Cove, we deliver more than 400 services and functions. These range from roads and bridges, rubbish collection, water and sewerage to libraries, economic development, natural resource management and major community festivals.

Manager Infrastructure

This is a key position within our Water and Waste Department, reporting to the General Manager.  The occupant will provide leadership in the strategic planning and forecasting for the demand for water, wastewater and waste infrastructure, through to the design and delivery of the annual capital works program within the Department.

To be successful in the role you will have sound knowledge and experience of Government policies and programs in an Australian context in the water, wastewater and solid waste areas; proven leadership experience within a multidisciplinary team; long term strategic planning expertise; high-level expertise within a relevant discipline; and proven management capabilities.  You must be highly skilled in negotiation, communication, problem solving and have a demonstrated successful track record in building rapport and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
