Contracts Inspector - Water & Waste

We are currently seeking a Contracts Inspector to join our Water & Waste Infrastructure Team. 

 

About the role:

The Water & Waste Infrastructure Branch is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of water and wastewater infrastructure. This includes planning and design of infrastructure, contract administration and project management. 

The primary objective of the Contracts Inspector position is to be involved in all facets of the tender and contract process within the branch to achieve optimum cost, risk and value outcomes for civil infrastructure projects. This includes inspection of works in progress, review of contractors proposals and providing advice to divisional staff on the contract management and administration process. The incumbent will assist in meetings with contractors and vet financial records and ensure procedural compliance.  

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in contract management with demonstrated ability to negotiate and administer major capital works contracts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, planning and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contractual practices and processes and recognition of how they relate to working within a Water Authority.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to be a contributing team member.
