The Gympie town centre is the central hub of the Gympie region, two hours north of Brisbane and in close proximity to the Sunshine and Fraser coasts. Council offices are located in Gympie's town centre close to shopping, cafes and parking.
Remuneration: Salary range between $80,500 and $85,971 plus 13% superannuation

Role Overview
Council are committed to delivering an exciting and diverse array of major capital projects focussed on supporting Council’s vision and a liveable, prosperous, well designed and sustainable region. These include Gympie Town Centre revitalisation projects, streetscape revitalisation, the ‘Our Towns’ Sustainable Centres Program (aimed at the region’s smaller townships), sports facility master plan implementation, tracks and trails development and canoe and kayak launch facilities
The Coordinator – Projects will report to the Manager Planning Strategy and Major Projects and has responsibility for managing all phases of nominated projects through the delivery of a program of capital works projects which include major streetscaping and urban design projects, recreational facilities and town centre improvements. The projects are delivered using a mix of in-house and external resources.
What we are looking for
This is a unique opportunity for the projects expert to see projects come to fruition through the application of sound project management practices.
For this pivotal role, Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to co-ordinate the end-to-end process associated with the delivery of a program of capital works projects. This is a 2 year fixed term position, requiring project management skill, and the ability to apply sound project management principles and techniques to deliver projects on time, within budget and within scope. The successful candidate will have the required level of skill needed to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate level of engagement is undertaken for each project, ensuring positive outcomes.
