Salary: $84,918 per annum (pro rata)

An opportunity exists within the Families, Youth and Children Department for a motivated Family Worker. This role will be responsible for improving the wellbeing of children by supporting families with In-home casework services and through the provision of parenting groups.

The Family and Children Department works in partnership with families to develop their parenting skills, increase awareness of the health, developmental, and safety needs of their children and improve community connection and family functioning.

A tertiary qualification in community and welfare studies such as Degree/Bachelor of Social Work is required for this position as well as the following attributes:
• Highly developed case management and casework skills as well as proven experience working with complex and vulnerable families and children
• Knowledge of the Children Youth and Families Act 2005 and the application of the Best Interest Framework to practice
• Substantial parenting group work experience including ability to design, conduct and evaluate parenting groups
• Ability to work with people from a variety of socio-economic and diverse cultural backgrounds
