Active Spaces Officer 

Band 6: $87,041 - $94,749 per annum plus super (pro rata)

  • Permanent, Part-time position 4 days a week

Darebin City Council is looking for a dynamic and motivated Active Spaces Officer to complement our experienced Economic Development team. We work across Council and the community to encourage a vibrant, innovative, sustainable and socially progressive local economy.

The Active Spaces Officer vacancy sits in our experienced Economic Development team, within the City Sustainability and Strategy Division.
 
What the role entails: 

  • Lead programs and initiatives including Active Spaces in Darebin that facilitate the activation of vacant commercial properties within Darebin, particularly in shopping strips.
  • Develop strategies and actions to attract, retain, develop and grow new and existing businesses and industry in Darebin.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to increase employment opportunities for Darebin residents in particular creative businesses.

 
Who we are looking for:

  • Relevant experience and or qualifications in any of these fields: business, creative industries, placemaking and/or planning.
  • You have experience to develop and deliver multiple activation projects.
  • You have experience in dealing with landlords, real estate agents and or developers in the context of commercial leasing or business start-up.
  • You have ability to develop and implement strategies and programs to support creative industries within Darebin.
