About the Role
The Transport Engineer proactively engages with the community and stakeholders to deliver the requirements of the Council Plan as part of our progressive Climate Emergency and Sustainable Transport department.

  • We have a dedicated sustainability focus and work hard to support and develop safe and sustainable travel options, while also considering the best immediate and longer-term outcomes for our community.
  • Respond to transport related enquiries including walking, cycling, parking and public transport
  • Manage customer relationships and provide professional, accurate and technical advice on transport matters
  • Developing effective and creative solutions for transport management issues through consultation, research and technical analysis aiming for holistic, sustainable outcomes
  • Oversee improvements to the local transport network

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, transport engineering or similar
  • Experience in the design and knowledge of construction principles of transport infrastructure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including producing customer correspondence, technical project reports and reports to Council
  • Understand of legislation and processes in transport engineering and of land use and transport strategies
  • Ability to positively collaborate with key stakeholders, interest groups and community
