About the Role
Darebin City Council’s Office of the CEO is going through an exciting expansion period, and we’re seeking enthusiastic, innovative and talented people to join our organisation . We’re passionate about delivering best-practice service to our vibrant community.

This is a busy and hands on role where you will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering key cultural and inclusive community and civic events and projects. This includes providing direct support to the Mayor when attending events and meetings with key stakeholders.

As the Civic Events Coordinator you will act as the point of contact for all events that involve the Mayor and Councillors. You will be responsible for managing Council’s events activity calendar and coordination of correspondence, speeches, reports, briefing papers and emails.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualification in Events or related and/or extensive experience in events management and organisation of a wide range of cultural and community events
  • Capability to work independently and under pressure with sound organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly developed communication and problem-solving skills to effectively manage complex and sensitive situations and provide excellent customer service
  • Able to deal with confidential matters and maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues
  • A current valid Victorian Driver's License

This position will require flexibility to work after hours, on weekends and to work beyond normal work hours to meet deadlines and attend events. At times, the work is challenging and busy, however flexible arrangements will be available.
