About the Role
Leading and managing the Risk, Insurance, Audit and Business Improvement area, this position is responsible for managing and delivering Council’s risk management program. Leading a team of four, this role will provide strategic leadership across the organisation to strengthen Council’s operations and ensure best practice in areas relating to risk, audit, business continuity and improvement.

  • Provide leadership in the areas of integrity, risk and resilience
  • Identify and analyse business risks and develop risk controls
  • Develop, implement and review business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Deliver a business improvement program to support improvements to service quality
  • Oversee Council’s insurance program

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s and experience in public sector governance, business management, quality assurance and/or risk management
  • Capability to effectively lead and manage staff
  • Demonstrated understanding of best practice management of risk, insurance, audit, business continuity and compliance
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Sound financial management and strategic planning skills

Accreditation in ISO 31000 or ISO 22301 would be considered advantageous.
