About the Role
The Principal Environmental Risk Officer role is to be responsible for developing and implementing a contamination management framework, maintaining a register for contaminated land and overseeing Council’s compliance with the Environment Protection Act 2017.

This position also provides expert advice and support for developing and monitoring contamination management plans and improving environmental management outcomes relating to contamination.

  • Develop a framework to ensure compliance with the Environment Protection Act 2017
  • Provide strategic and technical advice on land contamination management
  • Imbed best practice environmental management
  • Develop and maintain a register of contaminated land
  • Procure and manage consultants

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental management or related field
  • Experience in environmental management
  • Ability to deliver strategies and imbed systems
  • Proven skill in applying knowledge to manage complex projects
  • Outstanding communicator to all audiences
