Recreational Centre Manager 

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is seeking a dynamic individual with significant leadership experience to manage its very busy and popular recreation facility. Situated in the heart of the Goldfields, as the centre manager of the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre no two days will be the same! You will lead a team of dedicated professionals in providing innovative fitness and recreational programs, services, and activities to the community, whilst maximising engagement across all areas of the centre. You do not need previous experience working in sport to be successful.

We are looking for a leader. Someone who will strive to grow and strengthen community participation, whilst ensuring all provisions of the centre operations are managed successfully and cost effectively. Developing the performance of the centre, whilst ensuring a strong and suitable financial and governance platform is paramount. Your collaborative and innovative style, as well as the ability to develop and nurture relationships will make you a success in this role.

The successful applicant should exhibit the following attributes:

  • Ability to see the big picture and work with key internal stakeholders to deliver wider organisational objectives;
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and implementation;
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives to increase community participation;
  • Financial skills, including budget development and management;
  • Flexibility in working hours—to accommodate the requirements around major community events and varying workflows;
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and resolve interpersonal matters;
  • Honesty and integrity to work in a self-starting position of trust;
  • Ability to foster key relationships and drive membership growth;
  • Experience in influencing and facilitating behavioral change, and managing teams.
