Waste Management Coordinator

The City of Darwin is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated professional to join the Council in the role of Waste Management Coordinator.

This position is based at Council's Civic Centre in the heart of the CBD and offers outstanding leadership opportunities, excellent supportive conditions along with a generous salary package.

The key responsibility of this role is to effectively oversee all of Council's Waste Management Activities. The role will be responsible for the contractual management of Council's waste management contracts including kerbside waste collection, landfill operations and recycling facility operations. Further key responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for waste management and providing guidance and support to waste management staff.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) and a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in waste management and / or managing significant civil projects. Relevant experience across both contracts and contractors, environmental legislation, along with a high level of communication are key attributes to be demonstrated.
