The Opportunity

The Regulatory Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the achievement of Council's goals through the appropriate supervision of Regulatory Services Officers carrying out functions including on-street parking, animal control and general regulatory duties.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Provide supervision, guidance and direction to Regulatory Services Officers, across public places, animal management, CBD and suburban parking and abandoned vehicles;
  • Supervise and participate in the development and implementation of contemporary operational practices;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build capacity within the community;
  • Ongoing monitoring and preparation of section reports, annual budgets and business plans; and
  • Lead, develop and recruit staff to deliver exceptional customer service to the community.

Your Experience

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant Diploma qualification and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar management role of medium sized workforce;
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships, encourage collaboration, teamwork and partnerships striving for excellence in the achievement of the organisation's visions and values;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to use discretion and judgement in a complex business and political environment;
  • Experience in the field of animal management (desirable); and
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in an environment that includes workers and stakeholders of varying ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
