We are currently seeking a suitably qualified building surveyor to join our Engineering and Development Services team. Reporting to the Manager of Building and Health Services this is an integral role undertaking duties and delegations associated with the building surveyor portfolio. The core functions of this role are to undertake assessment, processing and approval of building and development applications, and provision of advice to the public, complying with relevant legislation and Council Policy.
To be considered for this role you will be a Level 2 registered Building Surveyor and have demonstrated knowledge of building regulatory framework, the Building code of Australia and an understanding of the application of Residential Design Codes. A strong customer focus and sound report and letter writing experience is essential. A desire for process improvements and high aptitude for computer use including electronic management systems and Microsoft office is required. Knowledge of WA regulatory building and planning frameworks, previous compliance experience, competencies with electronic application assessment and relevant local government work experience would be highly advantageous. Although some experience is required Building Surveyors newer to the industry are encouraged to apply.
Your commitment to the team will be rewarded with a negotiated salary, circa $65K-$75K per annum dependent on qualifications and experience, up to 14% superannuation and commuter use of a vehicle.
