 Workplace Safety and Depot Admin Officer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced candidate to join the Shire of Corrigin works team in the exciting and diverse role of Workplace Safety and Depot Administration Officer.

Based at the Shire of Corrigin Depot the successful applicant will be the first point of contact for all customers ensuring that all enquiries are conducted in a professional, timely and approachable manner. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook programs.

The Workplace Safety and Depot Administration Officer position is offered at Level 4.1 to Level 5.1 of the Shire of Corrigin Enterprise Agreement 2022 and attracts an annual salary of up to $60,806.83 depending on experience. Generous additional benefits are provided including up to 15.5% superannuation, uniform allowance, housing allowance, rostered days off, and plenty of training and professional development opportunities.

Corrigin is a progressive rural community located 235km south-east of Perth in the Wheatbelt region with a population of approximately 1200 people. The town is well serviced with retail, recreational, health and medical facilities as well as a district high school and day care centre.

Key Responsibilities and Projects

  • To oversee Workplace Health and Safety legislation compliance, monitoring and provide support to managers, staff and safety representatives.
  • Provide administration assistance to Manager of Works and Services and depot staff.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve workplace safety and health.
  • Develop works administration processes to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Improve procurement processes and compliance with Purchasing Policy.

Selection Criteria

  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, elected members and the public.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ability to take the initiative to solve problems or to make improvements.
  • Computer and keyboard skills.
