We are putting our Expressions of Interest for a Community Infrastructure Engineer with previous Local Council experience.

Key Tickets, Qualifications and Other Skills

1. A degree in Civil Engineering suitable to gain Professional Engineer Member status of the Institution of Engineers (Aust.) with relevant engineering experience.

2. Working knowledge of the relevant and applicable NSW legislation: e.g. tendering regulations in the NSW Local Government Act, EP&A Act, Heritage Conservation, and Building Code of Australia.

3. Advanced working knowledge of Aus-Spec and RMS design and construction specifications, in particular building design and construction guidelines and specifications.

4. Class C driver's licence.

Job Specific Key Accountabilities

1. Prepare and manage budgets for construction and maintenance works, and by constant, collaborative review ensure that program objectives are achieved within budget.

2. Offer technical advice, working closely with the relevant project manager, and the Chief Engineer on capital works and asset renewal.

3. Ensure that works undertaken in construction, maintenance, and operation of local roads, bridges, storm water drainage, flood levees, parks, and other recreational facilities comply with relevant standards, guidelines, codes of practice, and legislation, and are carried out on time and within budget.

4. Contribute to the preparation of Annual Budget in the relevant Works budget areas. Ensure regular monitoring and reporting of financial positions to the Chief Engineer.

5. Manage, or assist as required, all aspects of the Roads and Maritime Services Road Maintenance Council Contract.

6. Develop tender documentation and quotations, and assist with the engagement of external service providers.

7. Assist with the development, review and practical implementation of infrastructure asset management plans.

8. Ensure decision making processes are appropriate by implementing a consultative approach.

9. Any other such duties that are commensurate with the employee's skill level, competency and training.
