Aboriginal Environmental Health Program Coordinator
The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is seeking a qualified Aboriginal Environmental Health Program Coordinator to join our team based in Derby; gateway to the gorges.
Location: Our Shire is in the North of Western Australia with a population of approximately 9,500 people, while the town of Derby’s population is 4,500. Our location provides for a variety of leisure activities including superb fishing, boating, sightseeing, community events and sports. On our doorstep are some truly stunning and untouched wilderness areas like the famed Buccaneer Archipelago, National Parks and Gorges, and the mighty Fitzroy River. Broome is also within easy reach. The Kimberley lifestyle is relaxed and open.
The Position: You will manage a small team undertaking programs and initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal people throughout Aboriginal Communities within the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley.
You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic with the essential qualification of a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent and the ability to be authorised by the WA Department of Health to work as an EHO in Western Australia, along with a Class C Manual Drivers Licence.
Also required is experience as an Environmental Health Officer, excellent time management and organisational skills, cultural awareness, budget and expenditure control, sound verbal and written skills, well developed customer service and community liaison skills, teamwork and leadership qualities.

Salary Package: range $152,482 to $157,569pa
Includes cash range $99,624 to $105,110pa salary and allowances (if applicable) plus superannuation, restricted private car use and subsidised housing.
