Team Leader Building and
Regulation

The main purpose of this role is to -

Oversee the provision of professional and efficient services to the development industry and community that comply with Council's statutory and regulatory responsibilities in the functions of public and environmental health, building regulation control, on-site sewage management and ranger services; and Provide leadership and expertise in the development of improvement programs related to assessment, compliance and regulatory procedures and policies.

The key requirements for the role are outlined in the PD and
include, amongst others -
  • Tertiary qualifications (at a minimum of Associate Diploma level) in Environmental Health and Building, or Applied Science (Environmental Health) or Health and Building Surveying Associate Diploma or recognised equivalent
  • Accreditation by the Building Professionals Board at a minimum level of A2
  • At least 5 years' experience in development assessment and/or environmental health in accordance with the Building Code of Australia, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act, 1993 and Protection of the Environment Operation
  • Previous supervisory experience in Local Government Health and/or Building Surveying
