This is an exciting opportunity for a leadership role at one of Victoria's most progressive and innovative public libraries. This role covers a significant portfolio, with responsibility for library programs and the day-to-day operational coordination of all library branches.

The Coordinator Library Programs and People position fulfils a key role within the library leadership team, leading the development and delivery framework for library programs across all six library service points in Hume City. Your background and significant experience in the strategic development and management of daily library operations as well as highly developed community engagement skills will drive the delivery of excellent library services with an innovative suite of library programs for the growing communities in Melbourne's north.

You will be an independent, innovative thinker with a high degree of initiative and drive and highly developed skills in planning, analysis and problem-solving. You will be experienced in leading teams to achieve community outcomes with an ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.

Additionally, you will have tertiary qualifications that allow professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, a minimum of five years public library experience at a senior level and demonstrated experience in developing and delivering library programs to facilitate innovative and effective community engagement.

  • Demonstrated successful people and team management skills and experience, including high level skills in all forms of communication, reporting and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated high level skills in operational management, budget and contract management
