An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Urban and Open Space Planning Department at Hume City Council in the role of Coordinator Open Space and Recreation Planning.

Following Council's recent endorsement of the Parks and Open Space Service Plan, the Coordinator will play a leadership role in the development of a new Open Space Strategy with a focus on greening Hume's urban centres and connecting the City's open spaces network. Working in partnership with the community and other stakeholders, the Coordinator will lead a dedicated team in the planning and development of high quality, well designed parks and open spaces that contribute to place making, health and well-being and promote participation in a diverse range of recreational activities

Key Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and application of open space and recreation planning
  • Demonstrated planning, project and program management skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish networks and consult and liaise effectively with external agencies, stakeholders, council and the community
