Senior Project Officer - Recreation and Parks Planning

Full Time

 

Band 7 Annualised ($88,990 per annum + Super)

We are looking for a highly motivated person with proven experience in managing multiple projects both strategic and operational within a dynamic parks planning and recreation services setting. The successful candidate will be an experienced recreation planner and/or open space planner that can manage multiple projects both strategic and operational. They will also have excellent stakeholder management skills and determination to get the job done.

 

In this role, you will ensure that Council undertakes quality project management of recreation and parkland planning for passive and active open space that reflects current and future needs.

 

You will have significant experience in project management from a parks planning and recreation services perspective including experience in the preparation, management and implementation of passive and active open space projects including master plans, concept plans and landscape plans. You will also need to scope and manage a number of recreation and parks planning (active and passive) projects arising from sporting clubs and community requests. The successful applicant will also have well developed communication, community engagement and consultation skills including knowledge of and extensive experience working with and developing relationships with community groups such as sporting clubs, local environmental groups, residents associations, or similar.

 

In addition, you will have the ability to collaborate effectively and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, show initiative and deliver complex projects on time in a busy and demanding role. To secure the role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in the provision of parks planning and recreation, including experience within a Local Government context. You will have the capacity to formulate policy options and have sound technical, design and strategic planning capabilities.
