OHS Consultant 

  • Immediate start until 1st February 2021
  • Conduct a safety audit across the business
  • Inner city location but work from home mostly

This local government based in the inner city suburbs are seeking an OHS professional for an immediate start to undertake a project on desktop audits, worksite inspections and risk level guide in the workplace until February 2021. Reporting to the Senior Workplace Health & Safety Consultant, the successful candidate will have previous experience working within an OHS environment particularly doing audits & risk assessments. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking investigations as part of the project into incidents and high risk activities
  • Engaging with staff about their current OHS practices
  • Reporting on all risks discovered in investigations
  • Assessing the current contractors in Council's OHS & risk evaluation responses
  • Guiding staff through processes including effective prevention and management practices

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in OHS or relevant field
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, standards and guidelines related to OHS 
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits & risk assessments is necessary
  • Previous local government experience would be advantageous 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
