This local government based in the inner city suburbs are seeking an OHS professional for an immediate start to undertake a project on desktop audits, worksite inspections and risk level guide in the workplace until February 2021. Reporting to the Senior Workplace Health & Safety Consultant, the successful candidate will have previous experience working within an OHS environment particularly doing audits & risk assessments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking investigations as part of the project into incidents and high risk activities
- Engaging with staff about their current OHS practices
- Reporting on all risks discovered in investigations
- Assessing the current contractors in Council's OHS & risk evaluation responses
- Guiding staff through processes including effective prevention and management practices
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in OHS or relevant field
- Sound knowledge of legislation, standards and guidelines related to OHS
- Demonstrated experience conducting audits & risk assessments is necessary
- Previous local government experience would be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
