What you need to know...

  • permanent full time - 70 hours per fortnight
  • salary - $83,452 - $99,518 per annum, plus superannuation
  • access to a lease back vehicle
  • a 9 day fortnight
  • location - Grafton
  • the opportunity to accrue time in lieu

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated strategic planning professional to join a dynamic team of planners. You’ll be a key part of driving Council’s strategic planning initiatives including those required by the recently amended Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.  You’ll be able to live and work in the Clarence Valley where we enjoy the finer things in life like catching a fish or a wave before work, river views on your daily commute, and a work life balance that is exactly as it should be – balanced.

As Senior Strategic Planner (Policy), you will:

  • help drive Council’s strategic land use planning
  • play a key role in delivering a strategic planning program including a Local Strategic Planning Statement, Community Participation Plan and standardized DCPs
  • prepare and assess planning proposals as required
  • Be responsible for managing Council’s developer contributions program
  • Mentor more junior strategic planning staff when required

This position is located at Council's Grafton Office, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.

A probation period applies to this position.
