Applications are invited from highly motivated persons with suitable qualifications and experience for the diverse and exciting position of Sustainability Officer – Integrated Transport for Hobsons Bay City Council.

Hobsons Bay City Council is committed to responding to our community’s vision to increase public and active transport, the connectivity between all modes of transport whilst reducing car dependency.  Council has developed a vision for an integrated, innovative and equitable transport system that provides a range of sustainable, efficient, accessible and safe ways for people and goods to reach their destination.

The aim of this role is to support Council to implement the Integrated Transport Plan 2017-2030 to ensure the City is provided with a sustainable integrated transport system. The position is required to develop a coordinated and united approach to integrated transport planning and deliver innovative behavioural change programs, education initiatives, events and promotions to meet Council’s sustainable transport vision.  The role will seek to advance the organisation’s understanding of the transport sector, its challenges and opportunities for the community whilst advocating for improvements to local and regional transport networks,

Applicants must have demonstrated experience in the implementation of integrated transport policies as well as knowledge of integrated transport planning. Experience in developing and implementing behavioural change and awareness programs for sustainable transport issues as well as the design and implementation of community consultation and engagement processes is encouraged.

A successful applicant will have strong project management skills, high level interpersonal skills and an understanding of the social, financial, environmental, political and legal frameworks in which Local Government operates.
