City, Coast & Country…Wyndham has it all!

Do you consider yourself to be a progressive, forward thinking and resilient Town Planner? If so, Wyndham City Council is the place for you.

Only 35 minutes from Melbourne CBD, Wyndham is one of the fastest growing Municipalities in Australia (forecast to be larger than Canberra by 2040!!). That’s going to mean a lot of varied, challenging and interesting planning applications!

At Wyndham we can offer you a caseload of planning applications that very few other types of Council can offer, along with excellent opportunities for professional development and growth.

Whilst leading and supporting a small team of planners within the Growth Team, you will facilitate a streamlined approach to applications through the planning permit processes and approvals, particularly in the Growth Areas. Your proven analytical and problem solving skills as well as your ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders will see you excel in this role.

Within the Growth Area Team you will be dealing with significant and complex applications within multiple Precinct Structure Plan areas for large scale residential and mixed use subdivisions (1000plus lots) facilitating the construction of new Town Centres and other community facilities and services that serve the new population.

In addition, you will be expected to contribute positively to a friendly office culture, as well as possess a strong desire to be involved in the identification and formulation of process improvements to improve the efficiency of the Town Planning Department and the service provided to our customers.

Did we mention we also offer fortnightly RDOs?

You will have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning or another related discipline along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to problem solve and have extensive statutory planning experience. Local government experience would be advantageous.

All applicants must address the Key Selection Criteria outlined in the online questionnaire.

For further enquiries please contact: Margret Evans, Coordinator Town Planning (03) 9742 8152

Applications close: Sunday 5 March 2017

Only people with the relevant right to work permanently in Australia may apply.
