Wyndham City’s newly established Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement team is seeking a motivated individual to undertake the role of Senior Community Engagement Officer. This role offers a unique opportunity to utilise your community engagement and strategic positioning expertise on an exciting range of projects across the organisation. Reporting to the Coordinator of Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement, you will be responsible for building staff capacity to deliver community engagement across the organisation, cultivating genuine community engagement in decision making and supporting the strategic positioning of Council with key stakeholders across a broad range of Council priorities, plans and major projects.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Community Development, Social Sciences or similar discipline. A certificate in IAP2 and/or prior knowledge of Council planning processes will also be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have significant experience delivering community and stakeholder engagement projects which demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the principles of public participation. The ability to apply systems thinking to solve complex problems, manage projects and analyse consultation and engagement findings are also essential.

You will hold a current Victorian Driver’s License and be required to undertake a Police Check.
