Wyndham City is offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader and motivated person to join the Youth Services Unit in the Area Leader Youth Support and Development role.

Reporting to the Coordinator Youth Services, you will lead the diverse Youth Services team to ensure the successful strategic and operational management of services and programs for Wyndham’s youth across the municipality.

You will be tertiary qualified in the discipline of Youth Work, Social Science, Community Development or Human Services, or Diploma qualified with substantial experience within the youth services sector. You will provide direction and operational input into the coordination and planning of an integrated and evidence based range of services for young people. This includes the development of strategies and policies, grant submissions, report writing whilst ensuring legislative requirements and key performance indicators of the Unit are achieved.

Additionally, you will have diverse and extensive experience working with young people, their families at a senior level in a local government or a community based setting. Candidates will have demonstrated leadership experience to foster and maintain partnerships coupled with expertise in financial management, business planning and high level interpersonal skills.  Your broad knowledge of services for youth, families and the general community, including identifying local needs and policy and service implementation coupled with an understanding of relevant Acts, Legislation and funding guidelines within the Youth Services sector are key pre- requisites for this role.

The successful applicant will have a confident approach, combined with extensive experience in a dynamic and changing environment.

Applicants will have a current drivers licence, Working with Children’s Check and will be required to undertake a Police Check.
