Randstad are currently seeking a Safety Officer to commence in September until December 2021. The Safety Officer’s principal place will be based in Hughenden for the duration of the project, the roster will change when there is a public holiday or during wet weather. Fully furnished accommodation will be provided.

Responsibilities of the Safety Officer will include, but not limited to:

• Prepare and implement workplace, health and safety plans in accordance our clients Integrated Construction Management System
• Complete risk assessments, audits, task observations, safety inspections and incident reports
• Complete and maintain any documentation required on the project as per the Federal Safety Accreditation and ISO Accreditation requirements
• Ensure relevant legislation is adhered to
• Provide training and support to the team members
• Manage and develop relationships with employees and stakeholders

Essential Skills required undertaking this role:

• Qualified in OHS (min AQF L6) and have a minimum 5 years’ experience on TMR projects from the contractors side
• Strong understanding of latest OH&S legislation
• Experience in Implementation of the Federal Safety Accreditation and ISO Accredited safety management system on Road Construction Projects; preferably in the rural working environment
• Experience working on road construction projects in the rural environment
• Ability to complete the work with limited resources
• Time management and task prioritisation capabilities, with an ability to meet deadlines and manage pressure
• Ability to complete the work with limited resources

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage difficult and complex tasks within the tight time frames
• Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
