Are you an experienced Financial Officer in the public sector? We are recruiting for a temporary casual opportunity to work as a Randstad contractor for one of our South Australia Government clients. This role will be based in our client’s Adelaide CBD office.

Skills and experience required:

  • Assisting with the development, implementation, maintenance, operation and enhancement of systems for the timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of financial transactions, consistent with Corporate financial management requirements
  • Working with the team to ensure that budgets are monitored and maintained in compliance with departmental requirements
  • Ensuring that the team management is fully informed on the financial status of the Service budget through the formulation of written reports and addressing enquiries relating to a range of budgetary matters of some complexity
  • Providing timely expert advice on a range of financial management and/or resources issues, and ensuring that appropriate action is taken with respect to the achievement of budget outcomes
  • Identifying cost savings and efficiency initiatives that will enhance the Service’s financial and administrative performance
  • Developing and implementing audit protocols and budget management strategies consistent with the department and government requirements for accounts payable and receivable, assets, cash, property and equipment within the Service
  • Preparing, analysing and interpreting financial data and ad-hoc financial reports which includes maintaining an overview of financial performance within the Service for both the recurrent and capital budget areas
  • Developing, monitoring and reporting on key financial performance indicators
  • Ensuring consistent practices are implemented and maintained to meet the department, Service and Branch requirements
  • Identifying issues which impact on financial performance and recommending appropriate action
  • Liaising with Business Service regarding policy and strategic issues relevant to the Service
  • Providing regular management reports on resource utilisation and financial outcomes.

Benefits

The role will pay a commensurate government salary paid at a range from $51.81 $57.62 per hour
