Located in the picturesque Northern Rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

 The position

The Operations branch operates and maintains Council’s assets and implements Council’s natural resource management plans. The Operations Engineer sits within the Operations branch and has responsibility for overseeing the operation and maintenance of Council’s water distribution, reticulation and flood mitigation infrastructure.

 Qualifications and experience

Along with a degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline plus experience (2yrs) in a similar role, experience in the operation and maintenance of bulk water supply infrastructure and project management is also essential. To be successful you will be committed to excellent customer service through efficient and effective operational management of the team.

 Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2014. Salary range $82,700 - $96,800 per annum based on skills and experience, plus statutory superannuation. Other generous benefits include: access to Council’s ‘Private lease motor vehicle’ arrangements; nine (9) day fortnight; and reimbursement of relocation expenses (in accordance with Counil's policy).  A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.  To be eligible you must be an Australian Citizen or have legal right to work in Australia.
