COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

 

Located in the northern rivers area of NSW, Rous County Council is a special-purpose local government organisation that delivers bulk water and provides flood mitigation and weed biosecurity services.

The position

To coordinate and lead the delivery of a broad range of internal and external communication and stakeholder engagement services for Council.

Qualifications and experience

This position requires relevant bachelor level qualification in communications, public relations or a related field, or 3-5 years in a similar role.

Essential requirements for this role include demonstrated experience in developing innovative communication strategies and engagement materials, with an ability to engage internal and external stakeholders utilising a range of contemporary and traditional mediums.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic planning, project and leadership skills together with experience initiating and fostering partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders who have different priorities and issues, particularly in the natural resources management space.

Experience in the Microsoft office suite of products and a familiarity with desktop publisher software is a requirement for this position.

Conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award 2017. Salary range $86,850.40-$101,592.40 per annum based on skills and experience plus statutory superannuation (9.5%) and generous working conditions including a 70 hour, nine-day fortnight.  A satisfactory health assessment, including drug screening and a criminal background check is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
