Building Approval and Network Protection Officer

  • Remuneration: $85,522 plus 15% superannuation

The opportunity

Icon Water's Customer Engagement Group is looking for a new member to join the Building Services Team. As Building Approval and Network Protection Officer, your positive and collaborative approach will support the delivery of a range of services including building approvals, network protection notification and asset advice.

The Building Services Team has a ‘support your co-worker’ attitude, values self-development and makes the time to focus on keeping skills and knowledge up to date. The Team provides a service to the community and internal stakeholders, so strong business relationships is paramount to the success of the team. Most importantly, the team values a sense of humour and promotes a sense of strong team spirit in the workplace.

 A day in the life…

  • You will conduct document reviews, site inspections and investigations
  • Undertake application reviews with emphasis to larger scale commercial, public works and multi-unit developments
  • Issue statements of compliance or non-compliance as required to align with the external development plan
  • Provide advice to architects, designers, builders, property owners to assist them design and construct structures

What we want you to have?

  1. You have extensive experience in an administration or customer service project role
  2. You have the ability to interpret large scale and complex building design documentation and its impact on the operation, access and protection of water/sewerage network infrastructure
  3. You possess practical knowledge of customer service codes, contracts, standards, regulations, customer rights and obligations

Desirable

  • Diploma in Civil engineering or Diploma of Building Design with experience in water and sewer hydraulics
  • You hold a plumbing or building trade qualification
