The Corporate Planning and Strategy team located in the City Growth and Strategy department focuses on high level strategic, corporate and business planning, analysis, reporting, and the implementation of organisation wide strategies. 

About the role: 
We are currently seeking an innovative and enthusiastic leader to join the Corporate Planning and Strategy team. The successful applicant will drive excellence in corporate planning and strategy functionality for Council and support the organisation in the development of a culture of innovation and excellence.

The successful applicant will be required to establish and maintain relationships, contributing to the management team and creating value for the community. High order skills in planning and performance reporting including excellent analytical skills, stakeholder engagement and the ability to identify and implement efficient practices is required for this role. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and extensive job related experience.
  • Extensive job related experience in corporate strategy and planning, reporting, business process management, identification of improvement opportunities and the management of change processes across an organisation. 
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, relationship building capacity and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage, supervise and lead teams, projects and process.
  • Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills including presentation and business writing.
  • Demonstrated high-level problem solving skills, analytical skills, organisational skills and computer software skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies to address recurring problems and/or position the organisation to respond positively to emerging issues and trends in corporate planning and strategy.
  • Experience in carrying out research and developing corporate strategies.
