The Organisation

Located in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW, 1.5 hours south-west of Sydney - Wingecarribee Shire Council is working to create and nurture a vibrant & diverse community in harmony with the urban, agricultural & natural environments of the region.
Council is seeking a confident, pro-active legal professional to join Council's Corporate and Community team.

The Role

This role coordinates the provision of legal services to the various departments of Council. The successful applicant will work closely with Council's panel of external legal practitioners, providing briefs and instructions. The applicant will also provide legal services and advice directly to Senior Management on issues within their area of expertise.

The Candidate

The ideal applicant with be a Solicitor and/or Barrister with appropriate tertiary qualifications in law and a current NSW practicing certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

In addition, the applicant will have at least 12 months' experience in one or more of the following areas of legal practice:

  • Local Government
  • Land and Environment
  • Real Property
  • Commercial Law/Contracts

The successful applicant will be a team player who demonstrates:
