About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a hardworking, mechanically minded team player to join us in the role of Assistant Water Treatment Operator.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance of Council’s Water, Stormwater and Sewage Treatment facilities (including water and sewage treatment plants, pump stations, water storage reservoirs, bores and water supply dams).

This is a hands on role where you will be using your skills and experience to undertake minor maintenance on pumps, motors and equipment, as well as load and transport treatment facility waste products such as biosolids.

You will also need strong computer skills to examine, analyse and report on field, computer and laboratory observations and undertake water and soil monitoring and water quality analysis.

A team player who is not afraid of hard work, you will also be willing and able to roll up your sleeves to perform general housekeeping duties such as hosing, sweeping and cleaning as required.
