Sustainability Coordinator

Come join us and use your knowledge and experience to assist us in the education and delivery of programs in relation to sustainability for the Tamworth region.

The Water & Waste division of Tamworth Regional Council is seeking the services of a motivated individual with experience in the preparation and delivery of strategic programs to internal and external stakeholders.

You will be responsible for the coordination and control of Council’s Sustainability Unit in carrying out the following functions:

  • Preparation and implementation of strategic documents aimed at improving the communities understanding of sustainability and the need to improve sustainability through conservation, reduction in demand, increased recycling and other initiatives;
  • Increase awareness within the Council of the need to consider sustainability during the planning and construction of projects;
  • Investigate Council activities to identify areas where sustainability could be increased and assist responsible officers to implement those changes;

Highly developed communication/negotiation skills as well as the ability to manage projects within a team environment are essential.

The applicant will need to possess an Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Behavioural Science or related discipline and hold a current driver’s licence. Demonstrated ability in project management and the development and delivery of education programs is also required.

This position has been classified as a Grade 16 with a salary range of $1378.20 to $1491.30 for 35 hours work per week.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
