The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) purchases and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government.

The Submarine Group is responsible for all materiel-related aspects of submarine support across Defence, and works closely with the Chief of Navy, other government departments and industry to manage Australia's submarine capability. The group manages sustainment of the existing Collins Class submarine fleet, combat systems for the Collins and the acquisition of the future submarine that will deliver the next generation of capability to the Australian Defence Force.

The Submarine Group is currently seeking to employ a number of Engineers, across various disciplines:

• Mechanical
• Electrical
• Electronic
• Naval Architect/Structural

The successful candidates will be responsible for the evaluation of submarine concept designs against performance requirements and standards within their engineering area of competence and authorised submarine engineering delegations.

The successful candidates will use their initiative and experience to research, analyse, plan, review and adjust work priorities to meet business outcomes.

They will undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence, providing detailed professional advice in relation to design, integration, analysis, testing, and documentation activities

These positions will require experience and comprehensive knowledge of specific engineering discipline, as well as project management skill and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

The successful candidate may be required to travel interstate and overseas.

Employment will be offered on an ongoing (permanent) or non-ongoing (temporary) basis.
