Learning and Development Officer

City of Melbourne are known for many things and one branch that continues to stretch for improvement is our On-street Compliance Services. This branch operates for 2 main functions:
In order to support our 150+ staff we need to ensure our officers are developing their skills, and are complying with regulations. Currently our On-street Compliance Services Branch is looking for a Learning and Development Officer to join their team.
The Position… supports and leads the delivery of training and development services and activities to ensure all staff within the On-street Compliance Services Branch are appropriately skilled. You will provide direct learning and development support through training programs and activities, staff induction, refresher training, and assessment of individual key competencies to meet On-street Compliance Services’ overall performance goals and service delivery standards. You will be responsible for contributing to strategic capability planning, and individual coaching. Reporting into the Program Manager Business Performance, the Learning and Development team provides capability planning, induction training, and support to all On-street Compliance Services staff. The team also ensures On-street Compliance Services Branch are leaders in internal and external training solutions for industry through ongoing research, development and delivery of best practice programs.
We are looking for someone who has training and assessing background, that leads with a coaching style approach. Experience in training in a regulatory department would be highly advantageous!
You will have…
Demonstrated knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework relating to the relevant sections of the Local Government Act and other relevant Acts and Local Laws, or proven ability to develop the knowledge required within a short timeframe is highly desirable
