How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

The Facilities Management Officer operates within the Facilities Management Team to improve and develop asset management practices in line with the corporations Asset Management Policy. A significant focus of the role is to ensure consistency across the facilities management lifecycle within the building portfolio.

You will assist and support in the day to day management of the portfolio, and will be involved with the Capital Works programing along with assigned ad hoc small to medium size projects.

This position would suit those who have knowledge and experience with facilities management and/or the building industry Practice. You’ll also demonstrate your proven project management capabilities, contract administration and quality management. Possessing excellent communication skills (written and verbal) andsystematic problem solving and analytical skills to achieve success.

 

You can bring… (Selection criteria)

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in project management or equivalent relevant experience in a related field such as building construction or mechanical engineering 
  • Ability to concurrently project manage multiple projects on time, to budget and to client satisfaction, including small to medium sized projects of moderate complexity

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the facilities maintenance or building industry Practice

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence

  • Must hold a current Victorian driver’s license.
