How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
As the Sustainability Officer – Sustainable Buildings, you will contribute to development and delivery of services that support the achievement of energy efficiency in the city’s commercial buildings. You will manage sustainability building programs including CitySwitch, a national energy efficiency program for office tenant engagement, in the City of Melbourne. The aim of this program is to engage office based businesses in the city in the opportunities of energy efficiency and provide the necessary tools, resources and support to facilitate reduced energy consumption. You will also support the development and implementation of projects to achieve a zero emissions city.

- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values - accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in environment, sustainability or business related field.
- High level written and oral communication, interpersonal, influence and negotiation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values - accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- Strong understanding of technologies and strategies to drive energy efficiency in buildings
- Innovative and creative approaches to problem solving.
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive networks, engaging with community and business stakeholders and providing high quality customer service;
- Proven project management skills including demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget, and to balance and respond to competing priorities.
