You will be supported in your application via our Aboriginal Employment Officer, Mariah Johnson. Make the difference for Melbourne and its people… You will work collaboratively across the Corporate Affairs and Strategic Marketing Branch to plan and deliver communication strategy for the rest of the organisation in a way that builds upon and protects the City of Melbourne’s brand and reputation. As a Corporate Communications Adviser you will work closely with branches across the organisation to provide strategic communications advice that is aligned to Council's four-year plan. The adviser advocates for the customer, providing insights and strategy to influence complex projects and lead the implementation of integrated communication strategies. Further to this, your ability to think at a strategic organisational level and at the same time be hands on and deliver on the ground communications is essential. Strong advocacy skills are required to provide leadership in the communications field across the organisation with both internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone with a strong communications background, ideally in an issues rich environment, and experience in delivering high-profile and complex projects. You will understand that your time and priorities must be shared with all client groups and as such will have strong time management and stakeholder relationship skills. Your experience, appreciation of process, resilience and ability to maintain positive relationships is key.
