$106,988 plus 9.5% Superannuation
Maximum Term Contract up until 10 December 2021

How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
As the Senior Strategic Planner within the Precinct Delivery Team, you will be responsible for leading strategic project and place-based development opportunities within City of Melbourne, specifically projects and opportunities that require cross-organisational integration and coordination of internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on Council’s urban renewal areas.
Leading team projects, you will actively engage and share best and future practice regarding urban renewal, urban strategy, delivery means, city management, planning practice, and city change, to contribute to City of Melbourne’s ambition to be a leading organisation for a leading city.
You will support the delivery of a high quality outcomes by undertaking research, developing project plans, preparing urban renewal strategies and implementing key projects with stakeholders. In addition, you will advocate for City of Melbourne priorities and policies and work collaboratively with stakeholders across government agencies and departments to harness opportunities in urban renewal areas.
Our ideal candidate will bring an understanding of the strategies, processes and opportunities of enabling successful urban renewal. You will model a collaborative, place-based approach in facilitating agreed outcomes for specific projects and/or precinct developments.

- Ability to demonstrate and display CoM values: integrity, courage, respect for self and others and striving for excellence.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and either professional qualifications or extensive practice or public agency experience in strategic planning and delivery roles.
- Substantial experience and understanding of development planning, delivery mechanisms and brokering partnerships for the delivery of place-based projects.
- High-level analytical, lateral thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to operate autonomously and take initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to deliver complex and detailed information in a manner that is both fit for the audience and easily understood.
- Excellent project management, governance and administration skills.
- Substantial experience in the delivery of outcomes in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- High-level ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders in government and the development community.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and needs with an ability to respond constructively and positively.
- Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive matters with discretion, responsiveness and attention to detail
