As the Risk Management Officer you will work within the Risk Management team who provide risk, insurance and audit services for the City of Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to broaden your skills in the risk management field in a supportive team. We are looking for someone who will forge strong working relationships with others and use your customer engagement skills to manage queries in a professional and timely manner. You will help with investigating public liability claims submitted by the public seeking compensation from the City of Melbourne. This will involve working with internal work areas and external lawyers to gather various details. The role will also involve you assisting other work areas across the organisation with coordinating risk assessments. Your ability to listen and your excellent organisation and time management skills will also be relevant when you provide risk management and insurance advice, help with business continuity planning and prepare reports to management. - Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the provision of professional advice to internal stakeholders.
- A background in risk management and conducting risk assessments.
- A working knowledge of insurance and audit procedures and/or a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- High level writing skills and ability to prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations.
- A high level of initiative and independence and the ability to establish own priorities and work with limited direction.
- Commitment to excellence in customer service.
