How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
Bring your exemplary customer service, strong stakeholder management and communication skills to this Local Laws Officer role. You will provide local laws, littering, smoking compliance and enforcement which actively promote compliance and understanding of the Activities Local Law, Environment Local Law, Environmental Protection Act, and other legislation where applicable, for the safety and benefit of the community and visitors to the City of Melbourne.
You will proactively identify breaches of legislation and respond to requests for service with the relevant legislation, take necessary action to achieve compliance, issue appropriate compliance notices (including infringements) and, where necessary, participate in the prosecution of offenders in the courts. You will also play a key educational role within the community, and provide a high level of support to specific educational and enforcement campaigns.
Comprehensive training will be provided to the successful individuals.
This role would ideally suit someone who likes keeping active whilst working outdoors all year round.
